Welcome to My Personal Page
My name is Howad J Pritchard. I am a Living Kidney Donor. On March 19, 1991 I donated a kidney to my younger brother Matt (John Matthew Pritchard). After seeing him suffering for many years from Juvenile Diabeties it absolutely broke my heart. His life was not easy by any means, he had struggled his entire life with this horrible disease. When he finally had to go on dialysis that was it for me, I could not watch him suffer any longer. I was tested, along with my three sisters, Miriam, Christine and Maureen. It turned out that I was a perfect match. Due to the fact that I had a wife, Patricia, and three daughters, Joyce, Amy and Carolyn, Matt didn’t want me to do the transplant. With the support of my family and a couple of delays, we had the surgery. We had ten more years with my brother. He passed away on July 1, 2001. I not only lost my brother but my best friend as well. He was the bravest, most caring and compassionate person I have ever met. He is my hero, and always will be. Even though we were only able to attend the games as a family once in Walt Disney world in 2000, I have been to every one since. In 2012, Living Donars were finally able to compete as athletes. Since then, I have earned 10 medals I his honor. I plan to go to the games as long as I am able. I am currently fundraising to help offset my expenses to the games. I would like to thank everyone in advance for any support.
