Andrea's Unicorn Tribe
In July 2017, I received the gift of life... I was blessed to receive the gift of a new liver. To say I'm lucky is a HUGE understatement. I couldn't have gotten where I am today without my donor, her family, and my one-of-a-kind, unicorn tribe. Fun fact: A group of unicorns is called a blessing, and a blessing is exactly what I have received.
2020 brought more "medical unicorn" adventures in the best way possible. It was relatively uneventful and positive (besides the whole living in a bubble becuse of COVID thing)! I had surgery for skin cancer in the beginning of the year, which came back negative, and a bunch of scans at the end of the year that showed my PTLD (a rare Lymphoma brought on by transplant meds), I battled throughout 2019 was finally gone! *Take THAT PTLD!!!!*
Everyone has had an impact on my recovery, optimism, and positivity. I am so blessed to be HERE and present and watch my little Odin grow up...every single day is truly a gift. Thankful. Grateful. Blessed.
I will never be able to thank my angel donor in person, but we can honor her memory by signing up to be an organ donor, donating to this cause, and/or participating in the virtual Donor Dash.
Remember to live each day with a positive attitude and loving heart - life is so precious! I can't wait to see you there, virtually, and thank you in advance for your support and donation! Much Love!!
